February’s Listens
Hey there, music lovers! So, February has been a wild ride, and my Spotify playlist has been keeping me company through it all. Let me walk you through the tunes that have been on repeat and giving me life this month. As February unfolds, the airwaves of Spotify resonate with a vibrant medley of sounds, blending the heartfelt twang of country ballads, the infectious beats of pop anthems, and the rhythmic cadence of hip-hop tracks.
"Doomsday Pt. 2" by Lyrical Lemonade and Eminem:
This collab kicks things off with some serious vibes. Eminem's flow is fire, and the beat? Let's just say it's been on loop. Short and sweet, but still, Eminem….
"John Wick" by Connor Price and ANAS:
It’s a banger. Like a banger banger. Smooth, catchy, and just plain cool. This track's been setting the vibe with its slick beats and infectious hooks. It has me doing that thing where I am driving way fucking faster than I even know I am.
"Dreaming" by Tones and I:
Tones and I has been hitting me right in the feels lately. Perfect for those moments when you just want to drift away. Plus, I’ve been hitting country a bit harder than normal and this kinda fits into that feeling without leaving the funky tunes I usually love to listen to.
"Wildflowers and Wild Horses" by Lainey Wilson:
I don’t know how to explain the way my little wild heart soars to this song. It’s like someone wrote an exact account of how wild my spirit is and put it into lyrical heaven. I scream this song at the top of my lungs.
"Wildfire" by Cautious Clay:
Talk about a vibe. Cautious Clay brings the soul with this one. His voice is like butter, and the lyrics hit all of the right buttons as I feel a little extra lovey dovey this Valentine’s.
"In The Kitchen" by Renee Rapp:
Ok. I didn’t really pick this one, but it won my heart as my neices were belting it out with all of their hearts in my car, windows down, and driving through the country roads. How can I not love a car concert nomination? Plus, it’s a soul crusher and relates to every girl’s heart break frustrations. Lord knows, I felt the angst and devastation coming through my neice’s melodies.
"100 Bad Days" by AJR:
AJR's energy is contagious, and this track is like a shot of positivity straight to the soul. This song has me subconsciously dancing with my shoulders at 7am in the morning. So you know it’s a good one.
"TEXAS HOLD 'EM" by Beyoncé:
Queen Bey does it again with this fierce track. Again, hitting my country vibe this month, she fits RIGHT in there. It’s not the country that I have come to love, but I can’t NOT add her to the list this month.
"Burn The Witch" by PVRIS, Tommy Genesis, and Alice Longyu Gao:
Dark and mysterious vibes abound with this one. I have a love for weird vibes in my listening, and this fit right in to the nonsense of extreme weird that I couldn’t stop listening to. Plus, try screaming along with it. It just feels good.
"Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone:
UUUUUUUgggggghhhhhhhhhhhh. I can’t even describe how INCREDIBLE this song is. It has had me swinging in circles in the kitchen belting it at the top of my lungs. You know what I mean? I have it playing on all of my Alexa’s on loud and I just dance in my underwear in a heavenly state. Because GOOD GOD. This may be the best thing I’ve heard in forever.
"No Bad Side" by Connor Price and Nic D:
This collab is just pure fun. It's the kind of track you can't help but dance along to. Plus, who doesn’t love commuting to the feeling of waking up sexy every damn day. It’s a vibe.
"wait in the truck" by HARDY and Lainey Wilson:
Talk about a heart wrencher. As a woman who has BEEN HERE, I feel the conviction in the song so hard. So I sing the whole damn thing with a little more zest than I should.
